Day 0: Arrival Day
Upon arrival in Tanzania, you will be welcomed by a Leiyos Safari representative. This safari is ideal for travelers arriving from Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, or Morogoro. Guests can access the safari by road transfer, domestic flight, or SGR connections where applicable.
Depending on your arrival schedule, overnight accommodation can be arranged before the safari begins the following day.
Day 1: Maasai Village Visit and Transfer to Mikumi National Park
After breakfast, depart for a traditional Maasai village where you’ll be welcomed by community members and introduced to their unique way of life. Learn about Maasai traditions, livestock keeping, cultural practices, traditional homes, and local customs that have been preserved for generations.
After the cultural tour, enjoy lunch before continuing to Mikumi National Park. Upon arrival, embark on an afternoon game drive through the park’s famous Mkata Floodplain and surrounding wildlife areas.
Look out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, antelopes, and numerous bird species before heading to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park
After an early breakfast, spend the day exploring Mikumi National Park. The park’s open landscapes provide excellent wildlife viewing opportunities and are home to a wide variety of animals including elephants, lions, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, and many antelope species.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated picnic site before continuing your afternoon game drive. Your guide will take you to the most productive wildlife areas while sharing insights about the park’s ecosystems and wildlife behavior.
Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Return
After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in Mikumi National Park. The cooler morning hours often provide excellent opportunities to observe wildlife before beginning your return journey.
Following the game drive, depart the park and travel back to Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, or Morogoro depending on your travel arrangements.

Depending on your onward travel plans, departures can be arranged via Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, or Morogoro. International travelers can connect through Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) in Dar es Salaam.
