Day 0: Arrival Day

Upon arrival in Tanzania, you will be welcomed by a Leiyos Safari representative.

This trip can start from either Arusha Town or Dar es Salaam. Guests arriving in Dar es Salaam will take a domestic flight to Arusha where they will meet the mountain team and prepare for the Kilimanjaro climb.

A pre-climb briefing and equipment check will be conducted before the trek begins.

Day 1: Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

After breakfast, drive to Londorossi Gate for registration before continuing to the Lemosho trailhead.

Begin your trek through the lush rainforest, arriving at Mti Mkubwa Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

Leave the rainforest behind and ascend through heath and moorland zones while enjoying spectacular views of the mountain.

Arrive at Shira 1 Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

Continue across the Shira Plateau, one of Kilimanjaro’s most scenic sections.

Enjoy breathtaking views before arriving at Shira 2 Camp.

Day 4: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower

Ascend gradually to Lava Tower for acclimatization before descending to Barranco Camp.

This climb-high, sleep-low strategy significantly improves acclimatization.

Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Climb the famous Barranco Wall and continue through valleys and ridges to Karanga Camp.

Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Trek through alpine desert terrain to Barafu Camp, your base camp for the summit attempt.

Rest and prepare for the night’s climb.

Day 7: Summit Day – Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Around midnight, begin the final ascent to Stella Point and continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.

After celebrating your achievement, descend to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing to Mweka Camp.

Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate and Return to Arusha

Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate where you will receive your summit certificates.

Transfer back to Arusha for a well-deserved rest.

Day 9: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart Arusha for Tarangire National Park.

Enjoy a full-day game drive through the park, famous for its large elephant herds, baobab trees, lions, giraffes, zebras, and diverse birdlife.

Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the crater for a game drive.

The crater is home to one of Africa’s highest concentrations of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, hyenas, and the endangered black rhino.

Dinner and overnight near Serengeti.

Day 11: Ngorongoro to Central Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, travel through the Ngorongoro Highlands toward Serengeti National Park.

Enjoy game viewing en route as you enter the endless plains of Serengeti and continue to the Central Serengeti area.

Dinner and overnight in Serengeti.

Day 12: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

Spend the day exploring Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s greatest wildlife destinations.

Search for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and numerous other species.

Dinner and overnight in Serengeti.

Day 13: Serengeti National Park to Lake Manyara

Enjoy a morning game drive before departing Serengeti and traveling toward Lake Manyara.

Arrive in the afternoon and overnight near Lake Manyara National Park.

Day 14: Lake Manyara National Park and Return to Arusha

After breakfast, enjoy a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park.

The park is famous for its groundwater forest, soda lake, tree-climbing lions, elephants, baboons, and abundant birdlife.

After the safari, return to Arusha where the adventure concludes.

Departure Day

Depending on your onward travel plans, departures can be arranged through JRO (Kilimanjaro International Airport) or JNIA (Julius Nyerere International Airport). Guests departing from Dar es Salaam will be assisted with domestic flight connections from Arusha.
