Day 0: Arrival Day
Upon arrival in Tanzania, you will be welcomed by a Leiyos Safari representative. This safari is ideal for travelers arriving from Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, or Morogoro. Guests may travel to Morogoro by domestic flight, SGR train, or road transfer before the safari begins.
Depending on your arrival schedule, overnight accommodation can be arranged before departure to Mikumi National Park the following day.
Day 1: Mikumi National Park
After an early breakfast, depart to Mikumi National Park.
Upon arrival, enter the park and begin an afternoon game drive through the wildlife-rich Mkata Floodplain and surrounding habitats.
Mikumi is home to a remarkable variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, impalas, warthogs, and numerous bird species. Lions are regularly spotted throughout the park, while hippos and crocodiles can often be seen near water sources.
Enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing with your game drive until late afternoon. Afterwards, proceed to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Return to Morogoro
Rise early for breakfast before returning to the park for a morning game drive. The cooler hours of the day often provide excellent wildlife viewing opportunities as animals are more active.
Continue exploring different areas of the park while searching for wildlife and enjoying the beautiful scenery of Tanzania’s Southern Circuit.
After the game drive, return to the lodge for lunch before beginning your journey back to Morogoro. Guests continuing to Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar can connect via road transfer, SGR train, or domestic flight arrangements.

Departure Day
Depending on your onward travel plans, departures can be arranged via Morogoro, Dar es Salaam, or Zanzibar connections. Guests traveling internationally can connect through Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) in Dar es Salaam. Domestic flights and SGR train connections can also be arranged where required.
