Day 0: Arrival Day

Upon arrival in Tanzania, you will be welcomed by a Leiyos Safari representative. This safari is ideal for travelers arriving from Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, or Morogoro. Guests may access Morogoro through domestic flights, SGR train services, or road transfers depending on their travel arrangements.

Depending on your arrival schedule, overnight accommodation can be arranged before the safari begins the following day.

Day 1: Transfer to Mikumi National Park and Afternoon Game Drive

After breakfast, depart from Morogoro and travel to Mikumi National Park. Upon arrival, complete park formalities and begin an afternoon game drive across the park’s famous Mkata Floodplain.

The open landscapes of Mikumi provide excellent opportunities to spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, impalas, hartebeests, and warthogs. Predators such as lions are frequently seen, while hippos and crocodiles can often be observed around water sources.

Enjoy wildlife viewing until late afternoon before proceeding to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park

After an early breakfast, set out for a full day of wildlife exploration in Mikumi National Park. Your guide will take you through different sections of the park, searching for wildlife and showcasing the diverse habitats that make Mikumi a unique safari destination.

The park’s extensive plains, acacia woodlands, and seasonal wetlands support a wide range of species including elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, elands, lions, hyenas, and numerous bird species.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated picnic site before continuing your afternoon game drive. The full day allows ample opportunity to discover new wildlife areas and enjoy exceptional photographic moments.

Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Return

After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in Mikumi National Park. Early morning is often one of the best times to observe wildlife as animals take advantage of the cooler temperatures before the heat of the day.

Following the game drive, return to the lodge for an early lunch before beginning your journey back to Morogoro. Guests continuing to Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar can connect through road transfers, SGR services, or domestic flight arrangements.

Departure Day

Depending on your onward travel plans, departures can be arranged via Morogoro, Dar es Salaam, or Zanzibar. International travelers can connect through Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) in Dar es Salaam, while domestic connections can be arranged upon request.
