Day 0: Arrival Day

Upon arrival in Tanzania, you will be welcomed by a Leiyos Safari representative. This safari is ideal for travelers arriving from Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, or Morogoro. Guests may choose to travel to Morogoro by domestic flight, SGR train, or road transfer prior to the safari.

Depending on your arrival schedule, overnight accommodation can be arranged before the safari begins.

Day 1: Mikumi National Park Safari

Depart early in the morning from Morogoro or Dar es Salaam and travel to Mikumi National Park. Upon arrival, enter the park and begin your game drive through the wildlife-rich Mkata Floodplain and surrounding habitats.

During your safari, look out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs, hippos, and crocodiles. Lions are frequently spotted in the park, while bird enthusiasts can enjoy sightings of numerous resident and migratory species.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated picnic site before continuing with additional game viewing. Although the time spent inside the park is limited due to travel requirements, the safari still offers excellent opportunities to experience Tanzania’s wildlife and natural beauty.

In the afternoon, begin your return journey to Morogoro or Dar es Salaam.
